I have a 32" Toshiba model cf32e50. I have no sound and the mode select tv/cable is stuck on irc.?

the tv works great I think my 6yr old got ahold of the remote and pushed some ons. I had this problem about 10 years ago while it was under warranty. I had called tech support and they walked me through the solution. My problem is I can't remember what we did to fix it. I no longer have the manual it got stolen with my safe. The adjust ons work on the menu with other areas such as language select and timer setting. They do not move the curser on the source select. I have tried unplugging and resetting the set as well as looking at other peoples answers for tv problems. This does not appear to be an easy fix such as menu settings for audio or simply hitting the mute on.
