Replace transmission in eclipse good idea?

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 3.0l v6 with 150,000 miles on it and reverse jolts and some slipping.The engine looks clean and just had a timing belt service.The body is good except the bumper has a little knick in it.Is it worth replacing my transmission or buy another car.
