What do i do about my dogs sore pads PLEASE HELP!!?

my dog Ripley is SUPER active he is a great Pyrenees anatolian cross so he loves to play outside in our 15 degree weather but we've noticed that his feet are VERY tender my mom doesn't want to take him to the vet because our vet doesn't like big dogs and there's no other vet that is inexpensive or that we've had a good experience with is there a pad cream or lotion or anything we can do about his pads
