Should we separate?

My boyfriend and I have been living together for 3 years. We both have been married before. We each have one child ( teen-ager/adult ). I am ambivalent about marrying him as he can never initiate anything, drinks more than I would like, watches too much tv. Aside from this,he is wonderful, kind, generous. Oops-doesn't take care of himself physically and I am a health nut! Tonight, I was trying to have an in depth conversation w/ him and, as I was ending it, I asked him how he felt. He said "In one ear, out the other." I am ready to packmy bags--what do you think?
