I'm looking at buying a caravan weighing just under 1000 kgs my van is a 2.2 ltr auto can I towe the van?

I have towed large fully loaded tandem trailers will I be able to safely tow this van without causing any damage to my engine or transmission.The weight of my van is around 1400 kg.I change down when I tow usually ?Any answers would be greatly appreciated
