My hair poofs when it dries

OK I'm 15 and my hair is pretty short. When I get out of the shower my hair poofs out like crazy. I have thick hair but it is very straight and very soft so I don't think straightening it will work. Any ideas? I will be very grateful. And if you suggest a product, please keep it at a reasonable price and tell me where i can buy it.
